This is one prime example of how totalitarianism in enforced in the West - mob rule motivated by hate.
Of course the actual hate part gets projected onto the victim.

It is pandemonium in the US. Or, if you prefer, the inmates are running the asylum.
The Left seeks to suppress any and all attempts, or the mere thought of such, to put a stop to their plans to run the nation into the ground. Whether it is about marriage destruction, or rampant immigration that will truly "fundamentally* transform" the nation, if an individual expresses concern that the state is going too far, or is not doing its job, the consequence will be mob action, ridicule, and intrusions on your own privacy (And property). The thugs will be turned loose on you for daring to act rightly.
An email exchange that I had today got me thinking:
I know that this sounds weird coming from one who is very strongly anti-Marxist, but Western Socialism is far more subtly controlling, uglier, immoral, and plain filthier than what we saw in the USSR. The Soviets never encouraged their teenagers to do what our kids are being told to do. They never lied about what marriage is. They at least were willing to bring back some appreciation for the heroic history of the country before Communism. They may have curtailed the freedom of the Orthodox Church in Russia, but as far as I know the Kremlin did not force the Church to do anything that went against its teachings.
They never took people and forced/encouraged them to go generation after generation on welfare without having jobs.
They did not try to turn men into women and vice-versa, nor did they force gay and transsexual propaganda down our throats. Imagine a man with all male sexual organs being allowed to relax, fully naked and with legs open, in a women’s/girl’s changing room at a town pool and not being charged criminally (This is happening here in the US**) - all because “She” identifies “herself” as a woman.

In the US, the mere act of “admitting “ the reality that homosexual acts are wrong will bring on the mob, threats, and immeasurable digging into your own personal life to find things to discredit you. Even noting that adultery is wrong will incur ridicule and hate.
A kid in the USSR would not be expelled from school for playing cops and robbers and using his fingers to make a pretend gun.
The USSR would never allow the dumping of massive amounts of non-Slavic foreigners whose population growth would make the Russian people politically insignificant, or even a minority, in their own country. They would certainly not let Turks, Moroccans, and Somalis gang rape Russian girls without any fear of severe punishment. Forget about expressing concern about the scale of immigration in the US (Many of us have been cowed into submission on that one) and its natural consequences, the very act or making and enforcing immigration laws in our country will also bring the pitchforks and torches.
Massive pollution is horrible, but radical environmentalists would never have the influence in the USSR that they have here.
I have spoken with Poles and others who left to come here, and they tell me that the old country government never as involved in their personal lives then as our government now is right here.

Again, if I had to choose between the two, I would go "whole hog" and take the Soviet Union over what is coming to be in the US. I would also rather fight under the command of an honorable man like Zhukov than a weak-willed Westerner who so fears the elite that he would keep his mouth shut while they wreck the army or other branch of the military.
